LabDAO is an online community of scientists and engineers developing new tools and approaches for doing science.

Our goal is to accelerate innovation in the life sciences by giving scientific teams the resources they need to collaborate and execute research programs.

We are offering up to $2000 in no-strings-attached sponsorship (and potentially other support) to iGEM teams who share a similar vision for science as the LabDAO community.

What are we looking for?

We want to support iGEM teams that believe in open & accessible science, that have a track record of executing ambitious yet tractable projects (?), and ideally have a computational biology aspect to their project that we may support.

Ultimately, we want to support teams that share our passion for building solutions to important problems.

How else can I get involved? Where can I learn more about LabDAO and DeSci?

Building on the principles of the open science movement, decentralized science (’DeSci’) is an emerging area in web3 that aims to improve how science is done.

The Ethereum Foundation page on the topic is a great primer and launching point for further reading.

LabDAO is a virtual research organization and community giving scientists new tools and systems for performing computational biology research. Learn more here

We invite you to join our community on discord and to join the convo in the #igem-2023 channel - we’d love to hear how LabDAO can support your team and the iGEM community!
